Dune Director Addresses Complicated Messiah Time Jump and Why Series Isn’t a Trilogy
The movie “Dune: Part Two” was unquestionably one of the most significant films this year, effectively bringing Frank Herbert’s novel to life in some captivating and unanticipated ways. Certain aspects of the film’s plot, such as the glimpse into Alia Atredies’ (Anya Taylor-Joy) future, have paved the way for the franchise to grow even more. Although a third movie in the series, named “Dune: Messiah,” hasn’t been officially approved or scheduled by Warner Bros. Pictures, director Denis Villeneuve has expressed his intentions to adapt the new story. In a recent conversation with Vanity Fair, Villeneuve clarified that he doesn’t view the potential trilogy as a traditional one, given how distinct “Messiah” is from the events of the first book.
