Baltasar Kormákur, once an actor hailing from Iceland, has now transitioned into directing, showcasing his talents across theater, cinema, and television. After completing his acting studies at Iceland’s National Academy of Fine Arts in 1990, he was swiftly recruited by the National Theatre of Iceland, where he excelled as one of their top young performers until 1997. Since then, he has shifted focus to the world behind the camera, directing several Hollywood productions over the past decade, including Everest (2015) and ‘Beast’ (2022), featuring Idris Elba. These films revolve around man versus nature themes, but his latest work, ‘Touch’, offers a distinctly emotional narrative that sets it apart.
