Daniel Espinosa took charge of directing Morbius from a script penned by Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless. Previously, Espinosa has directed movies such as Safe House starring Denzel Washington, Easy Money featuring Joel Kinnaman, and the science-fiction film Life, which starred Jake Gyllenhaal, Rebecca Ferguson, and Ryan Reynolds. Despite collaborating with notable talents in the past, none of Espinosa’s films were critically acclaimed or massive box office hits. Given his experience with large-scale action movies, he was considered a suitable choice for Morbius. However, Ari Aster could have added a more intriguing perspective, potentially offering a distinctive interpretation of the Marvel Comics character.
