After Amazon bought MGM, including the entire Stargate collection, Amazon MGM Studios approved a new Stargate series – something fans have been hoping for a long time. This revival is different from past attempts because it’s being led by Martin Gero, who was a key writer and producer on Stargate SG-1 and Stargate Atlantis. It’s also bringing back the original creators: Roland Emmerich and Dean Devlin are executive producers, and Brad Wright and Joseph Mallozzi are consultants. Sources say the new series will continue the existing Stargate story, building on what came before rather than starting over completely, meaning decades of established history will still matter.
