Pearl Abyss is aware that fans have high hopes for this new game, given the success of their previous MMORPG set in the same world. Interestingly, the game’s original design and the team’s past experience are actually what make it stand out.

After sixteen years, the movie’s lasting impact is more noteworthy than the film itself. It isn’t considered Tim Burton’s best work, nor a flawless adaptation of the source material. What truly matters is how it changed Disney’s strategy. This film showed Disney that live-action remakes weren’t just one-off projects, but a potentially very profitable direction to pursue repeatedly.

The disappointing sales of Conker’s Bad Fur Day weren’t because of its mature content. Instead, the game simply came out late in the Nintendo 64’s lifespan. Gamers were already looking forward to the upcoming Nintendo GameCube, so not many people bought Conker’s when it launched on March 5, 2001 – exactly 25 years ago from today. Even though it didn’t sell well initially, Conker’s quickly became a fan favorite. Players have continued to enjoy it over the years through rereleases and a remake called Conker: Live & Reloaded, which came out for the Xbox in 2005.

After the news that Smiling Friends is ending with the last two episodes of its third season, a designer from The Simpsons shared a message referencing the previous disagreement between the two shows. Andy Manley posted a photo on Instagram of his work name tag, which featured character designs he created for the Adult Swim series that playfully mocked The Simpsons. He wrote, “Even though Smiling Friends is ending, it will live on through my work badge.” While a formal crossover between the two shows seems unlikely now, this touching image feels like a fitting conclusion to their past conflict.
