When news of a remake of The Mist surfaced, fans were confused. The original film, released nearly twenty years ago, was widely considered a definitive adaptation of Stephen King’s story, and the new version’s altered ending was even praised by King himself as an improvement. Director Mike Flanagan, when questioned about remaking such a well-regarded movie, offered a thoughtful response on Bluesky: he wouldn’t pursue the project unless he had a compelling reason, and he’s been fortunate enough throughout his career to only work on projects he genuinely believes in. He’s confident this remake will be great.

D20 Culture and Warner Bros. Discovery are creating a new tabletop game called Foes of Middle-earth, based on The Lord of the Rings. Its Kickstarter campaign was incredibly successful, reaching its funding goal in only 10 minutes! This means fans will soon be able to experience a new, cinematic game featuring beloved characters like Aragorn, Legolas, Gimli, and Frodo, alongside the iconic enemies they face.

The film quickly gained praise from both critics and movie lovers. While categorized as a psychological horror, it offered much deeper insights, delivering smart and pointed social commentary within a surprisingly straightforward story. Many still consider it a modern masterpiece and potentially the most important film of the 21st century so far.

Recently, Ubisoft made headlines by cancelling six games that were in development, which upset many fans. One of the cancelled projects was a remake of the popular PlayStation 2 game, Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time. Interestingly, despite shelving the series by 2026, Ubisoft previously created a spin-off game that was one of their most successful in recent years.
