Sam Wilson, the current Captain America, seems to be feeling overlooked within the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The film Captain America: Brave New World didn’t perform as well at the box office as hoped, earning only $415.1 million worldwide. Since then, marketing for the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday has focused heavily on the return of Steve Rogers, making Sam feel even more sidelined. Now, the new TV series Wonder Man has added to this feeling, with a recent development that feels like another snub.

Okay, so digital pinball might not be huge now, but back in the 80s and 90s there were some really great games. One that always stuck with me is Devil’s Crush, which came out for the TurboGrafx-16 in 1990. Luckily, they ported it to the Sega Genesis, so more people could play! It’s part of the Crush series, and it’s awesome because it has multiple playfields, hidden areas, tons of flippers, and you actually have to think about your shots. There’s even a boss battle! It’s a pinball game, sure, but it feels like a full-on video game that just happens to use pinball physics in a really creative way. It’s a sequel to Alien Crush, which is also good, but most fans, myself included, think Devil’s Crush is the better game overall.

Released in late 2025, Marvel’s Cosmic Invasion is a noteworthy modern beat-em-up. The game lets you play as a variety of classic Marvel heroes battling Annihilus and his forces from the Negative Zone, along with other well-known villains. Its strong gameplay and unique character abilities make it especially fun with four-player co-op, continuing the evolution of the beat-em-up genre.

Netflix has announced that the new horror series, Bloody Smart, will premiere later this year. The show, filmed in Taiwan, will weave together an overarching story with elements from several works by horror manga artist Junji Ito, bringing characters like Tomie, Slug Girl, the Hanging Balloons, and Souichi to life. A recent preview revealed the series’ premise: set in a strict school town focused on perfection, a mysterious Bloodfruit Tree begins to grow. Legend says a boy in black delivers its crimson fruit to those who need it most, and eating the fruit unlocks hidden desires and emotions, slowly leading the town towards chaos.

A new report suggests that Dave Filoni’s planned movie set in the New Republic era isn’t confirmed. While it’s still being considered, Lucasfilm might turn it into a limited series on Disney+ if the upcoming The Mandalorian and Grogu movie doesn’t perform well in theaters. The report also indicates that a third season of Ahsoka hasn’t been officially approved and may not happen at all.

A long-standing principle of Star Trek, known as the “Roddenberry Rule,” dictated that stories should focus on external conflicts – threats from outside the ship – rather than drama between the crew members. This rule became a benchmark for the franchise. However, the new series, Star Trek: Starfleet Academy, frequently breaks this rule by centering stories around conflicts between its main characters. Interestingly, one of the show’s actors argues that this doesn’t actually violate the original intent of the rule.

Casting Dave Franco was a pretty easy decision. We always audition top actors, and then we have our team, including Pete, listen to clips of their previous work to see if their voice fits the character. Dave Franco immediately stood out as the right choice. We were confident he’d be great, so we offered him the role, and he absolutely nailed it.
