In a surprising move reminiscent of the cunning villain it’s named after, “The Penguin” series has displayed an equal amount of ambition, aiming to create a Batman spinoff not focused on Batman himself. Over the course of seven episodes, The Penguin largely demonstrated its suitability for airtime without relying excessively on appearances or references from Bruce Wayne or Batman – except perhaps in the nail-biting cliffhanger of the sixth episode. In the final moments of “The Penguin” Episode 7, Sofia Falcone executed a bombing so destructive that viewers nearly pleaded for Batman to appear and take responsibility for it.

The Penguin: Some Major Characters from The Batman Return in Finale Episode
