The classic assortment of magical spells, swords, shields, and other equipment are at your disposal. However, what sets this world apart is the ability to construct buildings and homes for residence. Moreover, you can even harness magic to fell trees. Solo play is an option, but teaming up with others is also possible.

In Ashenfall, the awakened dragons spell trouble. Players seek the Dragon Queen to put a stop to this. There are other threats too. To survive, you can use weapons, magic, build homes, and even chop down trees. You can play alone or with friends.

In Connections, a game, you’re provided with sixteen distinct words and tasked with organizing them into four hidden groups. Your challenge is to pick four words that seem connected in some way, and when correct, they will be grouped based on their common theme or link. Each category has an increasing level of difficulty, with Yellow being the easiest, followed by Green, Blue, and the most challenging, Purple. The categories could span a wide range, from practical jokes and Spider-Man characters to modern comedy films from the 2010s or names that also represent professions. You only get four attempts to guess correctly; if you fail, your streak ends, and the groups are revealed.

Since 2021, this well-known guessing game has been putting players’ knowledge to the test, offering daily puzzles on the NYT app that vary in difficulty from easy to incredibly challenging. Newcomers can easily understand the rules: Simply try to identify a five-letter word within six attempts to unlock the final answer. Assistance is provided through feedback with gray, yellow, and green blocks, which show where and if the guessed letters appear in the solution word.

In Strands, the core gameplay involves locating words and phrases associated with a specific topic, hidden within a grid of letters. To fully grasp the theme, you’ll want to uncover the Spangram, which will guide you towards the actual interpretation of the theme. This could be a phrase or word, such as famous clowns or comedies. Both before and after discovering the Spangram, you can also find words that are connected to the broader theme, so for comedies, possible words might include film titles like “Step Brothers” or “Barbie”.
