The terms “fresh,” “rotten,” and “certified fresh” will still be used for expert reviews approved by Rotten Tomatoes, but audience scores will adopt popcorn-themed labels. Positive reviews (3.5 stars or higher) will now be labeled as “hot,” while unfavorable reviews (“stale”) represent scores below this threshold. A “Verified Hot” badge will be displayed on movies that receive an audience score of 90% or more on the Popcornmeter, along with other unspecified conditions being met.
