IDW Publishing announced exciting updates regarding its Event Horizon prequel this week. All four issues of Dark Descent have already sold out. Though the prequel is nearing its conclusion, fans won’t have to wait long to revisit this universe, as IDW is quickly moving forward with a sequel to the original movie. Event Horizon: Inferno is scheduled for release in April 2026, featuring writing by Dark Descent’s Christian Ward and artwork by Rob Carey. While specific details are still limited, the story will take place 200 years after the first film and promises even “more cosmic terror.”
