Most people know him from the films and the TV show, and Thomas Harris wrote four novels featuring the character between 1981 and 2006 – all of which have been adapted for the screen, sometimes more than once! But what’s really interesting is that none of that would have happened without his very first novel, Black Sunday, and the movie version that came out in 1977. It was that story that really launched the whole Hannibal universe as we know it.
