As a huge cinema and comic book fan, I’ve always thought Wolverine was seriously underrated as a leader. I’m so hyped! The last episodes of the One Piece: Egghead Arc – episodes 1144 through 1155 – are hitting Crunchyroll on March 24th, and we’re finally going to get our first glimpse of Joyboy! But get this – Toei Animation went and brought back Erica Schroeder, the original voice of Luffy from the 4Kids dub, to voice this legendary figure! It’s going to be amazing hearing her take on this role after all these years!
I was so excited to hear from Wit Studio’s President, George Wada, at The Ai Show! He talked about the One Piece remake, and honestly, it sounds amazing. He explained that the original series aired at a time when that slot was generally for kids, and they really want to move past that perception. Wit Studio is known for powerful, high-quality anime like Attack on Titan, Spy x Family, and Vinland Saga, and they’re aiming to bring that same energy to One Piece while honoring everything Toei Animation has already created. He admitted the biggest hurdle is meeting – and exceeding – the expectations of the huge One Piece fanbase. They want to build on the incredible visions fans already have and create something truly beyond what anyone’s imagining!
