Adult Swim’s animated series, Smiling Friends, has become a hit, following Charlie, Pim, and their colleagues as they try to make people happy. In the recent episode “Squim Returns,” characters Glep and Alan are noticeably missing – they’re at an anime convention! Alan is dressed as a funny version of Sailor Moon, and Glep is cosplaying as Cloud Strife from Final Fantasy VII. Adult Swim shared new artwork of the pair online, showing them off as the ultimate anime duo.

As part of this push, both manga will be featured on the cover of the January 2026 issue of Weekly Shonen Jump (available December 1, 2025). They’re also launching a collaborative event called the “Ichi or Bachi Challenge” right now.

As a gamer, I think it’s really cool to see what’s popular on platforms like Steam – it gives you a good idea of where the whole industry is heading. Lately, I’ve noticed a huge jump in indie games, and the numbers back it up! More and more people are buying smaller, more unique titles instead of just the big AAA games we used to see everywhere. It’s awesome to see so much support for experimental and affordable games, and honestly, it makes me excited about the future of gaming. It’s clear things are changing, and Steam’s sales figures really show that.
