To truly make the Paranormal Activity franchise more frightening, the best approach would be to immerse audiences directly into the scary experiences, and video games are ideal for that. However, there have only been a few game adaptations: a mobile game called Paranormal Activity: Sanctuary released in 2011, and a VR title, Paranormal Activity: The Lost Soul, from 2017. Now, nine years later, Darkstone Digital, the team behind The Mortuary Assistant, is returning to the franchise with Paranormal Activity: Threshold, which looks genuinely terrifying.

AdHoc Studio’s debut game, Dispatch, builds on the storytelling strengths of games like those from Telltale, but with a fresh approach to gameplay. Instead of directly controlling a character and exploring environments, you manage a team of superheroes and guide them through missions. This might sound potentially tedious, but it actually creates a surprisingly engaging and clever experience. It seamlessly blends the story and characters into gameplay that’s easy to pick up but difficult to stop playing. Dispatch delivers what Telltale games were always missing and demonstrates a promising future for the developer.

Yesterday, they released Update 6.010, which added a variety of improvements and changes. A key part of this update is the inclusion of new parts for building ships.
