DC Comics is experiencing a surge in popularity, especially with the launch of the new DC Universe and the focus on Superman. This has led to renewed interest in the entire Superman family, and the recent return of *Supergirl* has been particularly well-received. Writer Sophie Campbell has successfully blended the fun, lighthearted elements of classic *Supergirl* stories with a modern sensibility, and it seems DC has finally found the right approach for the character after many attempts.

In an interview with ComicBook, actor Cooper, currently appearing in AppleTV+’s *The Last Frontier*, jokingly said he wants to have an “arm wrestle” with Robert Downey Jr. to decide who better portrays Howard Stark. He quickly added that he has a lot of respect for Downey Jr., who also stars in *The Last Frontier* and is well-known for playing Iron Man’s father.

At New York Comic-Con, Amazon Prime announced that Lee Pace will play Thragg, the powerful emperor from the Invincible universe. Pace is well-known to fans of superheroes and fantasy, having played the villain Ronan in Marvel’s *Guardians of the Galaxy* and *Captain Marvel*, and the elf king Thranduil in *The Hobbit* films. Good news for fans: season four of *Invincible*, featuring Pace as Thragg, is set to premiere in March 2026.

Starting October 1st, you can watch Roland Emmerich’s 2004 disaster film, *The Day After Tomorrow*, for free on Tubi. The movie stars Dennis Quaid and Jake Gyllenhaal and follows a climate scientist’s dangerous trip from Washington D.C. to New York City to rescue his son as the world plunges into a new ice age. The film is known for its dramatic scenes of extreme weather, including massive hailstorms in Tokyo, tornadoes in Los Angeles, and a sudden, deep freeze in New York.
