The Wizarding World Direct account on X recently posted pictures and a short video showcasing the Hogwarts Express from the show. Many fans might mistake these images for behind-the-scenes footage from the films, as HBO’s version of the iconic train looks remarkably similar to the one seen in the movies. I’ve noticed that movies are hitting streaming services much faster after their theatrical releases lately. But when I spoke with Mitchel Berger, Executive Vice President, Global Commerce (who handles theatrical releases for Crunchyroll), about the success of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle in cinemas, I was surprised to hear something unexpected. He confirmed the new film won’t be available to stream until 2026 – at the very earliest! So, if you want to watch it, you’ll still need to head to the theaters.

Hotel rooms often have a strange feeling, but 1408 might be the creepiest one yet. Director Mikael Håfström brought Stephen King’s short story – originally found in the audio collection Blood and Smoke and later in Everything’s Eventual – to the screen. It began streaming on Peacock on September 1st. The movie has a “Certified Fresh” rating on Rotten Tomatoes with critics giving it a 79% score. 1408 stars John Cusack as Mike Enslin, a writer who tries to prove paranormal claims are false. He checks into the infamous room 1408 at the Dolphin Hotel, intending to disprove the stories of ghostly happenings. However, he quickly realizes he’s caught in a truly terrifying situation.

Lots of popular franchises, such as Disney and Star Wars, have new releases this month. However, we’re especially looking forward to films by highly respected directors – true creative leaders like Yorgos Lanthimos and Guillermo del Toro. It’s going to be a great month for cinema! We can’t wait!

As usual, Crunchyroll, the biggest place to watch anime online, will have most of these new shows available as they’re released. But, new episodes will come out one at a time each week, which isn’t great if you prefer to watch everything at once.
