Resident Evil Requiem’s Gameplay is “Almost An Upgrade” Over Resident Evil 2, Says Director

So, I was chatting with director Koshi Nakanishi and producer Masato Kumazama at Tokyo Game Show 2025, and they explained how they balance horror and action in the Resident Evil games. Basically, they see the games falling somewhere on a spectrum between how similar they are to Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 4. Nakanishi said Resident Evil 7 really leaned into the 2 side of things – going back to those survival horror roots, which everyone loved. Then, Resident Evil Village took that foundation and added a lot more action and shooting, pushing it closer to the Resident Evil 4 end of the scale. They called it an “inflation effect” – the more action you add, the more it shifts that balance.

Final Fantasy 7 Remake Trilogy Team Takes Fan Feedback Seriously, Doesn’t Let it Affect Core Vision

“Yes, I believe that’s a key point,” Hamaguchi responded when asked about the role of fan feedback during development. “We definitely pay attention to a lot of what players tell us, as it’s very important to us. Our producer, Yoshinori Kitase, has pointed out that a strength of this series is our ability to analyze how the first game performs. Because it’s a trilogy of three games, we can release one, gather responses, and then use that information to improve the subsequent games. That’s absolutely a part of our process and is very valuable. It’s a fantastic opportunity to be able to do that.”

James Gunn Ordered a Major Change in Clayface (Which Probably Saved the Movie)

During a conversation with Brandon Davis about the leaked images from the Clayface set, Gunn explained, “We were aware we were filming outdoors, anticipated some photos would surface, and knew makeup would be used.” He continued, “The question came up: ‘Should we avoid using makeup and rely on visual effects in post-production?’ I was surprised. Would a few leaked photos actually impact box office revenue by even a dollar? And why spend hundreds of thousands on VFX when practical effects would look better? Clayface features a lot of really impressive practical effects.”

Pi Network Goes Glitzy: Sponsors, Hackathon Drama & a Price Pivot

Last month, Pi Network deigned to glitter as a Gold Sponsor of TOKEN2049 in Singapore, where its co-founder, Dr. Chengdiao Fan, would take the lectern and pretend to mend the world with numbers and nonchalant charm. A mere hint of a spectacle, yet the air grew thick with the perfume of ambition.

Dogecoin’s October Gamble: History’s Bullish Bet 😏

Now, October’s no saint-far from it. It’s been a mixed stew of gains and losses for Dogecoin. But here’s the kicker: in the past 11 years, this meme coin’s danced into the green six times in October, with some years leaping double digits and one triple-digit romp in 2022 that’d make a Wall Street banker blush. The other five years? Lean years, to be sure, but the math still tilts toward green-8.37% median return, 11.6% average. Odds are, October’ll throw a party, and Dogecoin’ll be the guest who steals the cake and the punch bowl.

Final Fantasy 14 players lament one huge missed opportunity in the MMO’s new Monster Hunter Wilds content, but find plenty more to love in “the biggest collab Square Enix has ever made”

Today is September 29th, and that marks the arrival of the final content for the Final Fantasy 14 collaboration in Capcom’s action RPG, Monster Hunter Wilds. This includes two character classes from the Square Enix MMO, a boss fight against Omega Planetes, and other exciting additions. However, Final Fantasy 14 players will have to wait until October 7th to receive their own Monster Hunter Wilds content. Luckily, a new trailer has been released to keep fans entertained until then, although it doesn’t quite fulfill every expectation.
