Stephen King adaptations often differ from his books, especially when it comes to the endings. King is famous for leaving things ambiguous, a fact even acknowledged within one of his movie appearances. Sometimes, filmmakers choose to provide a clear resolution instead of mirroring his open-ended style, while other times, they significantly alter or even abandon the story’s core themes and plot – a prime example being the film *The Lawnmower Man*.

Since Joe Kelly returned to write *The Amazing Spider-Man*, the series has significantly improved, and this issue is a great example of that progress. The story primarily centers around Norman Osborn, showcasing his fight with criminals, a tense meeting with Roderick Kingsley, and a larger conflict involving Spider-Man and his allies.

While what makes a comic ‘good’ is always a matter of opinion, I believe DC has consistently published the best mainstream superhero comics over the past five years. They’ve delivered truly outstanding stories featuring DC’s most iconic characters, and these ten comics from the 2020s really stand out as examples of that success. They also prove that DC offers much more than just stories about Batman.

While this arc is exciting and develops the characters further, it wasn’t universally loved when it was first released, receiving mixed reactions from fans – though opinions improved over time. Now that the anime is covering the entire final section, viewers will likely encounter the parts that were considered weakest in the original story, and these issues can’t be fixed with the adaptation. Early previews also suggest the anime won’t follow the source material exactly.
