The safehouse at The Howl is surprisingly easy to access. You can either fight through the enemies in the main area, or just run past them to get inside. Once you complete the activity, you’ll unlock all the safehouse’s features.
The Coastal Bonescape safehouse is the first location you unlock after the game’s brief opening. Claptrap walks you through the whole process, and honestly, it’s a bit irritating, so it’s hard to imagine anyone getting stuck there.
The tip jar is back in Moxxi’s bar! You’ll encounter it during the main story, and by that point, you’ll have already unlocked several bosses that you can farm over and over again for legendary items.
The game features several ‘evocarium’ puzzles, but they’re easy to solve. You just need to activate the puzzle and then find the glowing orbs nearby.

If you discovered the Timid Kyle’s Neglected Opening mine before it becomes available in the game, you’ll need to advance the main storyline first. Specifically, you must finish the “Shadow of the Mountain” mission. Completing this mission unlocks the Augur Mines, which is a prerequisite for accessing Timid Kyle’s Neglected Opening.
It seems the scanner blocked your entry into the plant. If that’s the case, simply go back to the area shown in the image. You’ll find a small building there, across from the plant’s scanner, and along the path to the main facility.
To find the Datapad, go to the south balcony of the safehouse. You’ll notice a large hole in the edge – it’s a clue! Jump down from that hole to continue.
