Prior to that, the second season of Gen V is set to air, which could potentially pose a challenge for The Boys. I found the first season to be an impressive expansion of the universe, but its continued existence, along with the possibility of additional spinoffs, seems at odds with what The Boys aims to accomplish. As a satire of superhero media, particularly the MCU, there’s a concern that it may become a caricature of what it parodies. Could it end up emulating the MCU, requiring viewers to brush up on prior installments before each new release?
My concerns about Gen V Season 2 specifically stem from its apparent setup for The Boys Season 5, but recent comments from Kripke have helped ease some of those apprehensions.
