Even successful TV channels like HBO aren’t immune to the challenges of long-running shows. Over time, a show’s original idea can wear thin, especially when its plot becomes overly complicated or the initial creative spark fades due to pressure from the network. When a highly-regarded drama starts to decline, it’s especially disappointing for viewers, as it feels like a letdown after they’ve invested so much time and emotion into it during its best seasons.

It’s been over four months, and fans are wondering what’s happening with the next release. Producer Phil Girette says it’s still on its way, but asks for patience. He told The Gamer they appreciate the enthusiastic feedback and are glad people are enjoying what they’re creating.

The game’s title will be revealed during a festival from February 19th to 23rd, and a playable demo will follow in March. This is leading up to the game’s early access release in Spring, and the developers emphasize that player feedback will be crucial in making the game a compelling Wild West story.

In a recent interview with BKMAG, director Steven Soderbergh talked about his experience working on a potential Star Wars project that ultimately didn’t move forward. He acknowledged Kathleen Kennedy, the former president of Lucasfilm, was understandably frustrated with the situation, as they all were. Soderbergh revealed he and Adam Driver spent two and a half years developing the project – along with Rebecca Blunt – without compensation. When Driver considered publicly discussing the cancellation, Soderbergh advised him to simply state the facts, not speculate about the reasons. The official explanation they received was that the story wouldn’t allow for Ben Solo’s character to still be alive. Soderbergh expressed disappointment, particularly because he had already visualized the entire project and felt bad that no one else would see it. He expected the conversation with Lucasfilm to focus on logistics and budget, but they never even reached that stage, which he found frustrating. Ultimately, he and the team were very disappointed with how things turned out.

Even though Berserk has been popular for decades through its manga and anime, no one has ever tried to make a live-action version. This is surprising, especially since its story shares similarities with Game of Thrones, HBO’s hugely successful series. The series is known for its intense violence and demonic creatures, which would be very challenging and expensive to bring to life on screen. Currently, there’s no news about a new Berserk anime either, making a live-action adaptation seem unlikely anytime soon.

Films like The Crow and The Mask were huge hits. However, while The Mask, especially, was a massive success in 1994 and helped launch Jim Carrey as a major leading man, it was always intended as a standalone project, not the start of a franchise.

As a huge fan of the Predator movies, I was really worried when Disney bought FOX. The Alien vs. Predator films didn’t really work, and Predators left a lot of people divided. That led to the 2018 The Predator, which, let’s be honest, didn’t go over well with critics. But then Disney surprised everyone by releasing Prey straight to Hulu, and it was fantastic! It was a massive hit, and they’ve kept the momentum going with Predator: Killer of Killers and Predator: Badlands. Honestly, it’s completely breathed new life into a franchise I thought was on its last legs.
