In an interview for his film “Caught Stealing”, Darren Aronofsky discussed his proposed Batman movie on the “Happy, Sad, Confused” podcast with Josh Horowitz. He mentioned that although he never considered it seriously, Aronofsky named Joaquin Phoenix as his preferred choice to play Bruce Wayne. Aronofsky shared that he had presented Phoenix for the role, but Warner Bros. was leaning towards Freddie Prinze Jr., which represented a significant creative contrast at the time. This artistic disagreement eventually caused the project to be scrapped, despite having potential to reinvigorate Batman’s on-screen presence.

Instead of beginning with an unorganized display of the Prince’s courage that resulted in the Hun army capturing him and causing destruction, the narrative commences in a new light. We witness the Prince engaged in combat against King Nogai, leader of the Huns, who appears to have the upper hand. On the brink of death, he is miraculously revived by the enigmatic Prachi. True to form, the Prince thinks he can turn things around. This revival is facilitated by a mystical bola around his neck, which enables time travel upon his death (explaining the game’s run-based structure).

Besides the reimagined versions of earlier releases, Konami’s Silent Hill 2 was also given a fresh perspective thanks to the exceptional work done by Bloober Team. At first, I had some doubts about how Bloober Team would approach Silent Hill 2, but they exceeded my expectations with the outstanding quality of the game – I can hardly wait to see what they will produce in the future.
