In the story titled “Takopi’s Original Sin,” we follow an alien named Takopi from the Happy Planet who comes to Earth on a mission to spread happiness. He encounters Shizuka, a young girl in elementary school, and endeavors to make her smile. However, it soon becomes evident that Shizuka is deeply troubled due to persistent bullying by a classmate named Marina. If not for Takopi’s time-reversing device, Shizuka’s tragic end would have already been set in stone, as Marina’s torment pushes Shizuka towards suicide repeatedly. Driven by compassion, Takopi strives to help her, but their journey only takes them deeper into darkness.

As a die-hard movie fan, I must say that during the interview, the focus was primarily on Superman. However, James Gunn did touch upon the rest of their upcoming lineup. When he delved into the Lanterns, an intriguing detail emerged: although Hal Jordan is one of the main characters, he’s not the central figure in the series. Instead, as Gunn put it, “It’s John Stewart’s narrative, in many ways, but with those other characters” woven in.

Regrettably, the project lacks sufficient funding to match its aspirations, which might later be seen as a reason for Bandai Namco’s choice to turn every anime license into an arena-style game.

In the fifth episode of Riri Williams’ initial solo series, we find her under assault by the Hood’s group at a White Castle, with Ezekiel Stane (Alden Ehrenreich) among them, damaging Riri’s Ironheart suit. Following consultation with her mother (Anji White) and the NATALIE artificial intelligence (Lyric Ross), Riri constructs a replacement suit using the car she had collaborated on with her step-father. A sequence of images highlights her and her companions creating the suit, while Zelma Stanton (Regan Aliyah) readies her magic, concluding with Riri gazing directly into the camera, disrupting the traditional screen barrier.

After the successful debut of Superman in the box office, the film has achieved another success by contributing to the rise of an older punk rock song to the top of music charts. According to Spotify’s Daily Viral Song Global chart, “Punkrocker” by Teddybears, featuring Iggy Pop, debuted at number two on the chart. The Netflix animated hit K-Pop Demon Hunters‘ song “Golden” took the top spot. Notably, “Punkrocker” is played towards the end of Superman, leading into the credits.

Among the notable transformations in the Joestar series since the Stardust Crusaders era is a shift in the character’s physical appearances. In the third installment of the anime franchise, it was hard to imagine Jotaro as a high school student due to his muscular build that resembled a professional bodybuilder. Over time, Araki has adopted a new style when designing characters, making them leaner and more fashionable. The ongoing JOJOLands series portrays its leads, Jodio and Dragona, as significantly slimmer than their predecessors. A comparison between the current depiction of Jotaro and his Stand Star Platinum, and how they would appear if they debuted today, highlights this change in style.

In Ryan North’s recent work on the Marvel’s First Family, Sue Storm has shone brilliantly in the spotlight. Unlike Reed Richards, who tends to be more intellectual, Sue holds her ground among her family and has guided many of their most memorable escapades thus far. Given that The Thing is currently venturing solo, this presents an ideal opportunity for Sue to embark on her own adventures as well. Ben Grimm often faces formidable opponents when he’s alone, Johnny Storm chases fame whenever he’s not involved with a new love interest in almost every other issue, and Reed has never gone solo before acquiring his powers, so he might invent something new. It seems that it’s Sue’s turn to shine on her own.

As a die-hard fan of the series, I was pumped about Season 3 and its introduction of the Sparrow Academy, a fresh batch of superpowered characters promising to stir up the narrative. The concept seemed rock-solid on paper, but sadly, the execution left much to be desired. Newcomers felt one-dimensional, lacking the depth and complexity I’ve grown to expect from this show.

Moreover, the entire season felt like a mad dash, attempting to balance too many storylines without giving any the time and attention they deserved for proper development. A prime example: Ben (Justin H. Min), whose drastic makeover from scruffy to clean-cut left me scratching my head. The transformation was intentional on the part of the production team, but for fans like myself who closely follow the show, such details matter – especially when they don’t contribute to the plot or feel thoughtless and sloppy.
