Director Watts expressed that navigating through the COVID protocols while still trying to produce something creative, ensuring safety for the entire cast and crew (as mistakes could have potentially been fatal), plus the complex post-production process, presented immense challenges. Furthermore, since visual effects work involves a global network of vendors, the disruptions in supply chains due to COVID made it extremely difficult to complete effects traditionally.

In their latest release, known as the Foundation Update for Session: Skate Sim, developers primarily aimed at enhancing gameplay smoothness. Key aspects of this update included better fluidity, camera adjustments, and a revamp of physical animations. However, contrary to expectations, the community’s anticipation was dampened due to more problems arising than being solved.
