Let me be clear: Astrobotanica is still in development as an Early Access game, so it’s expected to get better with updates, more content, and improvements. However, even if you enjoy this type of game, it’s hard to recommend in its current form.

The fact that the game will probably let you switch between the two characters while exploring levels sounds really promising for Requiem. However, that’s not what makes it truly special. Switching between characters in a shared game world has been done before – Resident Evil Zero allowed players to control Rebecca and Billy and have their actions affect the environment. Simply bringing back that feature isn’t enough to make Requiem stand out.

We’ve been carefully studying the game’s trailers and marketing materials, and it led us to a key observation. The developers have repeatedly stated that Requiem draws inspiration from Resident Evil 2, but we started to consider how it differs from the original game’s core gameplay.

I’m incredibly excited about this new project! It’s going to be an adaptation of George Saunders’ brilliant Lincoln in the Bardo, which won the Booker Prize a few years back. Duke Johnson, the director of the amazing Anomalisa, is at the helm, and he’s doing something really unique: Tom Hanks will be performing live-action alongside this incredible stop-motion animation created by Starburns Industries. But it’s not your typical Lincoln biopic. Forget the war and politics – this story takes place over just one night in 1862. It focuses on Lincoln as a grieving father, visiting his son William’s grave in Georgetown. It sounds deeply emotional, and the whole thing unfolds through this really surreal mix of characters, both living and… not, all stuck in this in-between place called the bardo. It’s going to be something special, I can feel it.
