Paige Spara is counting her blessings for this medical miracle.
The actor from The Good Doctor shared encouraging news about her recovery from facial injuries sustained in a dog attack.
In a recent Instagram post from March 6th, Paige shared an update on her recovery from a dog bite that severely injured her cheek and upper lip over a year ago. She posted a photo of herself smiling, showing that her skin has healed with minimal scarring, and simply wrote, “Bonjour amen.”
To show how well her scars are fading, the 36-year-old shared an older photo of her wounds after surgery. The picture showed cuts on her upper lip, below her eye, and near her nose. She jokingly wrote next to it, “Goodbye scars!”
Paige hasn’t said much about her recent health issue, but she has talked before about her time on The Good Doctor. She especially appreciated seeing her character, Lea, and Dr. Shaun Murphy (played by Freddie Highmore) find happiness together by the end of the show in 2024.
From the very beginning, I was rooting for Shaun and Lea! I’m such a fan of their relationship because it beautifully shows how patience and empathy can build a strong connection. What I especially love is the kindness and understanding they offer each other – it’s so heartwarming to see how they navigate their lives together, with Lea being neurotypical and Shaun being on the autism spectrum.

Honestly, seeing them get their happily ever after – the beautiful wedding, their two adorable kids – was amazing, but you know what’s even more incredible? She was only supposed to be on the show for ONE season! Can you believe it? Instead, we got SIX whole seasons with her and her incredible story. She said it totally changed her life, and I totally get it! She was in her late 20s, early 30s when this happened, and it just catapulted her into this whole other world. She learned so much about herself, both as an actress and as a person, and she feels so grateful – and honestly, so do I! I’m just so lucky we got to follow her journey for so long.
Paige isn’t the only famous person who’s been hurt in a scary accident. Here are some other stars who’ve shared their stories about life-altering incidents…

In February 2017, Jamie Lynn Spears’ daughter, Maddie Aldridge, then 8 years old, was riding an ATV near their home in Louisiana when it overturned into a pond. She was underwater for several minutes before being rescued.
Jamie Lynn remembered thinking her daughter had died when she was pulled from the water and first responders took over. She shared this on the 2020 Maria Menounos Better Together podcast, explaining they believed they had lost her.
Although the extent of her injuries was initially unclear, Maddie regained consciousness and was able to speak after two days. She was back to her usual activities within a few weeks.
Jamie Lynn shared that she’s incredibly grateful to have her daughter back, explaining she went through a difficult time where she feared she’d lost her forever, but thankfully, they were reunited.

During filming of the 2025 action comedy Bride Hard, Rebel Wilson suffered an accidental injury on her last day of shooting. As she explained to Access Hollywood in June 2025, she was hit in the face with a prop gun during a fight scene. “It was a complete accident, and it split my nose open,” Wilson said. “I had to leave the set—it was just incredibly unlucky!”
She described being terrified when she was seriously injured in 2023. She needed an ambulance and a plastic surgeon to repair the damage, explaining that without the surgery, she could have been permanently scarred. Thankfully, the surgery was successful, and the injury is now barely noticeable.

Jimmy Fallon, the host of The Tonight Show, had a scary accident at home. He tripped and fell, and while trying to brace himself, his ring caught on something, dislocating his finger.
Doctors hospitalized him for ten days to try and save his finger after a severe ring injury, known as “ring avulsion,” threatened amputation.

In June 2025, Zane Wach, a seasoned hiker and multi-sport athlete who competes in long-distance running, swimming, and triathlons, almost suffered from altitude sickness while hiking Mount Whitney in California with his father, Ryan Wach.
According to Ryan, the 14-year-old began having hallucinations, but he was aware that what he was seeing wasn’t real. He reported seeing things like snowmen and Kermit the Frog.
Ryan had to repeatedly stop his teenage son from walking off the cliff as they hiked back down the trail. The father explained that his son seemed to be experiencing a break from reality, and they still aren’t sure why. Ryan suspects it was likely a combination of factors, including exhaustion, lack of sleep, dehydration, and lingering effects from altitude sickness.
After two failed attempts to reach Zane, Ryan watched helplessly as his son tumbled about 120 feet down a cliff. It took six hours for a rescue helicopter from Inyo County to arrive and transport Zane to the hospital in Lone Pine, where he was initially stabilized before being moved to a specialized pediatric trauma center in Las Vegas. Doctors put Zane into a medically induced coma, but he eventually started breathing independently.
Ryan described his teenager’s recovery from a serious accident – including a head injury, broken finger, ankle, and fractured pelvis – as a long journey. He said, ‘We’re still going through it, but he’s going to pull through.’
On New Year’s Day in 2023, actor Jeremy Renner, known for his role in Avengers, was seriously injured while helping a family member. He was using a snowplow to pull a stuck truck out of the snow at his Lake Tahoe home. After getting out of the snowplow, it began to move and he tried to stop it from hitting his nephew, resulting in 38 broken bones.
In his 2025 memoir, My Next Breath, he described lying on the ice on New Year’s Day, his heartbeat slowing. He wrote that after manually breathing for about thirty minutes – a strenuous effort like doing ten to twenty push-ups every minute – he simply grew tired and died, unbeknownst to his daughter, sisters, friends, or parents.
Despite suffering broken bones, significant blood loss, and the risk of dangerously low body temperature, he believed he had died. He later wrote that paramedics found his heart rate had dropped to just 18 beats per minute, a level they considered fatal.

In May 2025, TikTok creator Emilie Kiser and her husband, Brady, experienced every parent’s nightmare when their 3-year-old son, Trigg, accidentally fell into their swimming pool at their home in Arizona.
On May 12th, Chandler Police responded to a home after a child was found unconscious in a backyard pool. Police and firefighters immediately began CPR, and the child, later identified as Trigg, was taken to Chandler Regional Hospital. Unfortunately, Trigg passed away six days later.
Emilie filed a lawsuit asking the court to keep details about his death private. The lawsuit explained that Emilie is focused on caring for her two-month-old son, Theodore, and is struggling emotionally every day.

Dr. Cara Hodgson described a family trip to Thailand as “the worst 10 days” of her life after a December 2023 accident where she was shocked by power lines. She lost consciousness and was taken to the emergency room, then spent the following week and a half in and out of hospitals working to recover and save her life, as she shared in an Instagram post on New Year’s Day. She expressed immense gratitude to still be alive.
My orthodontist actually found something to be happy about during his treatment! He told me this experience really reminded him – and I think it’s a good reminder for all of us – just how amazing it is to simply be alive. He said being able to breathe, eat, speak, and even just move your body are incredible gifts and deserve to be celebrated. It really put things into perspective for him, and for me too!

In June 2025, Brazilian tourist Juliana Marins died in a hiking accident on Mount Rinjani, an active volcano in Indonesia. She fell from a cliff, and despite a four-day search effort involving 48 people, her body was only found after rescuers struggled with bad weather, difficult terrain, and poor visibility, according to a statement from the Brazilian government. Thankfully, she did not fall into the volcano’s crater.
Juliana Marins has sadly passed away, her family announced on Instagram. Rescue teams reached her location today, but were unable to save her. The family expressed their gratitude for the outpouring of support, prayers, and kind messages they received.

In 2015, actress Tori Spelling, known for her role on Beverly Hills, 90210, suffered a burn on her right arm while at an Easter brunch at Benihana. She tripped and fell onto a hot Hibachi grill, requiring skin grafts. She later decided to take legal action against the restaurant.
She revealed on her 2024 podcast, 9021OMG (co-hosted with Jennie Garth), that she received a skin graft from her thigh to cover a severe burn on her arm. She jokingly said, ‘Not many people can say they’re wearing their thigh on their arm,’ but emphasized she wasn’t exaggerating – a thin layer of skin from her thigh was actually used for the graft.

Comedian Tony Knight tragically died in June 2024 at the Rock&Cars festival in France when he was struck by falling tree branches. He was 54 years old and enjoying life, according to Joanne Allen, the sister of his partner, Hayley Wright. Allen described Knight as fit, healthy, happy, and full of life, noting his charisma, humor, and passion.
He was deeply loved and admired by many, especially his partner. Haley shared on Instagram that he was incredibly talented and could turn his hand to anything. She described him as a wonderful friend, a devoted dog owner, and, above all, the center of her world, adding that his loss has left a void that will never be filled.

A company celebration turned disastrous in January 2024. During a party in India to launch the 25th anniversary of Chicago software company Vistex, CEO Sanjay Shah and President Vishwanath Raju Datla were meant to descend in an iron cage onto a stage. However, according to a report in The Times of India, two cables broke, causing the cage to fall and crash onto the concrete stage below.
Sanjay, age 56, died at the hospital after the accident, according to reports. Vishwanath, 52, suffered a serious head injury and sadly died several months later.

Orlando Bloom revealed in a 2022 Instagram video with UNICEF that he broke his back after falling three stories from a window when he was 19. He and some friends were attempting to climb onto the roof of a building, but the drainpipe he was holding onto gave way. Thankfully, he survived with a fractured spine, though he was lucky his spinal cord hadn’t been completely severed.
He explained that during his hospital stay, doctors initially told him he might never walk again. This was the start of a difficult process of realizing why he’d had so many accidents throughout his life. Ultimately, breaking his back – a life-threatening injury – forced him to confront those patterns.
After leaving the hospital wearing a back brace and dealing with a lot of physical and emotional pain, he immediately started going out and partying—still wearing the brace, he told GQ in 2005. It took a few months for him to accept this new reality and understand he didn’t want to waste his second chance.
He said the experience completely changed his perspective on life. He realized he hadn’t fully appreciated things until he almost lost it all. He used to be a reckless driver and motorcyclist, always pushing his limits, not for the thrill, but because he enjoyed the adrenaline. Now, he’s much more relaxed and cautious.
