It’s been a while since we’ve had any updates on Palworld, especially with the early access period still expected to finish this year. With Grand Theft Auto 6 launching in November, it’s natural to wonder what Pocketpair has planned. However, it looks like they might be preparing something new. Gematsu recently discovered a trademark filing for Palworld Online in the United States, and Inven found a similar filing in South Korea.
These filings happened very close together – on April 24th and 27th – and typically suggest an announcement is coming. While it could be for a completely new game, it might also have to do with the multiplayer features in Palworld, which currently allows up to 32 players on a single server.
This could just be a branding update, but Pocketpair might have bigger plans for the game’s 1.0 release. It’s possible they’re aiming for a larger player base or a more massively multiplayer online experience. Only time will tell, but these trademark filings suggest an announcement is likely coming soon.
Palworld is now available to play on Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, and PC. The developers haven’t shared many details about the upcoming 1.0 update yet, but according to John Buckley, who leads communications for the game, it will likely be a pleasant surprise. They’re aiming to include features that appeal to a wide range of players.
