Summer Game Fest is full of events, so it can be hard to follow everything. But if you enjoy relaxing and heartwarming games, the Wholesome Direct is a must-watch. This year’s presentation, which streamed on June 6th at noon Eastern Time, was excellent. One of the biggest highlights was a look at a new update for the life simulation game Paralives, which came out in Early Access, and it includes a fantastic collaboration!
The life simulation game Paralives had a very successful launch into Early Access on May 25th, quickly becoming the top seller on Steam and demonstrating a strong demand from players. The launch included a playful crossover with Among Us, and the developers at Paralives Studio have been focused on fixing bugs and creating new content. Today, during the Wholesome Direct, they surprised everyone with a major update featuring a collaboration with the relaxing puzzle game Unpacking. The new content looks fantastic and adds even more charm to the game.
Paralives Reveals New Unpacking Crossover Update, Available Now

As with any game still in development (Early Access), Paralives is constantly being updated with new features and bug fixes as it moves closer to its full release. The developers have also been collaborating with other indie game creators to add special content. When Paralives first launched in Early Access, it included items inspired by games like Among Us and Outbound. Now, they’re adding a new set of items based on the popular puzzle game, Unpacking. It’s a perfect addition, as Paralives is all about moving your characters into new homes – and what do people do when they move? They unpack!
A new update for Paralives includes a collaboration with the game Unpacking. A trailer shown at the Wholesome Direct revealed that players can now have their characters play Unpacking in-game to improve their gaming skills. The update adds 10 exclusive items inspired by Unpacking, including cute plushies and a poster. Players can also collect Unpackingthemed stamps by simply playing the game and checking their characters’ mailboxes. You can see all the new collab items in the Paralives x Unpacking* trailer below.
Just like all future updates for Paralives, the Unpackingthemed update is completely free and available to download now! A new Steam bundle is also out, offering a discount if you purchase both Paralives and Unpacking* together. It’s a great opportunity to add these two relaxing games to your collection.
Paralives is now available on PC through Steam as an Early Access game. It costs $39.99 and will receive all future updates for free. The developers at Paralives Studios anticipate the game will be in Early Access for about two years, during which they’ll be adding new features and improvements.
