Will Ferrell became a household name after his memorable years on Saturday Night Live in the 1990s. He’s become a comedy legend, and the 2000s saw him star in a string of incredibly popular movies like Anchorman, Elf, and Step Brothers. Now, two of his funniest films from that decade have been added to Paramount+, giving the streaming service a great boost of comedy content.
Starting November 1st, Paramount+ is adding Will Ferrell comedies like Old School and Talladega Nights. Though not as widely known as Anchorman or Step Brothers, both films are great examples of Ferrell’s signature humor.
In the comedy Old School, Will Ferrell, Luke Wilson, and Vince Vaughn play a group of friends who try to recapture their youth when one of them buys a house near their old college. Though Luke Wilson is the main character, Will Ferrell steals the show, especially in a memorable scene where he leads a spontaneous streaking run, solidifying his status as a major comedy star.
Released in 2006, Talladega Nights brought Will Ferrell and director Adam McKay—who also made Anchorman—together again, and many fans consider it their most hilarious collaboration. The movie holds up remarkably well today, with jokes that are still as funny as ever. Its clever and often insightful commentary on competitive sports and life in Middle America feels surprisingly prescient.
