DarkStone Digital and DreadXP have revealed a new horror game called Paranormal Activity: Threshold. A trailer showcasing the game is available to watch. As the title suggests, the game is based on the Paranormal Activity films and will use the found footage format to tell its scary story. Paranormal Activity: Threshold is expected to launch on PC and consoles in 2026.
I just watched the trailer for Paranormal Activity: Threshold, and it looks pretty creepy! It’s a found footage horror game, so you know it’s going to be intense. Basically, the story is about a group of us who move into this super cheap, haunted house because that’s all we can afford. From what I’ve seen, we’ll be dealing with a lot of spooky stuff and trying to figure out the house’s secrets by solving puzzles. It looks like a really interesting take on the genre!
So, I’m playing Paranormal Activity: Threshold, and the story follows Daniel and Jessica Stewart. They’ve bought this really old, run-down house and are trying to fix it up. The whole game is presented like found footage – they’re documenting the renovation themselves with a handheld camera, which is kinda cool and creepy!
The story takes a frightening turn when the Stewarts find odd symbols and objects concealed within the walls of their new home. Soon after, a sinister force begins to torment them, gradually affecting their sanity as they struggle to understand what’s happening.
I’m really excited about Paranormal Activity: Threshold! The team that made The Mortuary Assistant is working on it, and from what I’ve heard, it’s going to have a lot of puzzles to keep you engaged while you’re exploring the house. Apparently, you’ll be doing everything from figuring out how to unlock doors to interacting with creepy stuff like an Ouija board – sounds perfect for getting that spooky atmosphere!
A key feature of the game is exploring different versions of past events within the house. As players investigate the mysterious force haunting it, they’ll also be able to interact with the spirits. The game’s unique timeline system, combined with player choices and a special game engine, means that every time you play, you’ll experience a different story.
The core of the game involves players learning about the creatures haunting the house and then finding ways to track them down and eliminate them. Beyond that basic idea, details about how Paranormal Activity: Threshold will actually play are still scarce.
