Patrick Dempsey will play the main role in Fox’s upcoming thriller, Memory of a Killer, and a new trailer offers a first look at the action-packed series, which is similar in style to the Jason Bourne movies.
I’m really excited about this new series Fox is making called Memory of a Killer! It stars Guy Dempsey and Michael Imperioli, and it’s based on a fantastic Belgian thriller from 2003 called De Zaak Alzheimer (or La Mémoire Du Tueur). They haven’t announced an exact release date yet, but the buzz is it’ll probably hit screens in January 2026. I’m already marking my calendar!
Memory Of A Killer follows Dempsey as hitman Angelo Ledda, who is living a double life while secretly battling early-onset Alzheimer’s. Imperioli stars as Angelo’s oldest friend, who runs a restaurant as a front for criminal activity. The official synopsis is:
Losing your memory is incredibly difficult for anyone, but for Angelo Ledda, it’s especially dangerous. He already has a risky job as a hitman, but now he faces even more pressure. Angelo leads a double life: he’s a feared hitman in New York City, but also a quiet salesman and father in the small town of Cooperstown.
Angelo has skillfully kept his personal and professional lives separate for years, building a strong boundary between them. However, that’s becoming increasingly difficult. He’s recently been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s, a disease he understands all too well – his brother is already suffering from it – and he knows there’s no escaping its effects.
Okay, so the cast is really shaping up! We’ve got Richard Harmon coming on board as this cool hitman named Joe, and Odeya Rush is playing Angelo’s daughter, Maria. Daniel David Stewart will be Maria’s husband, and Peter Gadiot is a local detective, Dave. Plus, Gina Torres is joining as an FBI Agent, Linda Grant – seriously, what a lineup!
The series is being produced by Warner Bros. Television and Fox Entertainment. Ed Whitmore and Tracey Malone are the writers and also serve as executive producers, joining Cathy Schulman, Arthur Sarkissian, and Peter Bouckaert in that role.
Michael Thorn, President of Fox Television Network and Entertainment, praised the series as a gripping thriller with an instantly captivating premise. He highlighted the strong central character, believing they have the potential to become another iconic figure on Fox. Thorn also noted the script was not only thrilling but also surprisingly emotionally resonant – one of the most moving stories he’s encountered recently.
Like the Jason Bourne movies, Memory of a Killer features a main character who must conceal their true identity and live a double life – keeping secrets from both their family and the targets they’re trained to eliminate.
Patrick Dempsey is famous for appearing in popular shows and movies like Grey’s Anatomy, Enchanted, and Dexter: Original Sin. He’s also set to be in the next Thanksgiving movie, which is currently being developed.
