The Conjuring: Last Rites to stream on Prime Video this month
The Conjuring: Last Rites will premiere on Amazon Prime Video on Tuesday, April 21, 2026.
The new Conjuring movie, the fourth in the series, is based on the true story of the Smurl family, who claimed their home was haunted in the 70s and 80s. The film centers around Judy Warren, the daughter of paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren. Like her mother, Judy has psychic visions that lead her to the Smurls, who are being terrorized in their house. Worried about Judy’s safety, Ed and Lorraine join the investigation and discover a haunted mirror they dealt with years before.
Michael Chaves directed the film, working from a screenplay by David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick, Richard Naing, and Ian B. Goldberg. James Wan, the director of the original Conjuring films, helped produce the movie through his production company, Atomic Monster.
The cast of The Conjuring: Last Rites includes Patrick Wilson as Ed Warren, Vera Farmiga as Lorraine Warren, Mia Tomlinson as Judy, Ben Hardy as Tony, and Steve Coulter as Father Gordon, along with other talented actors.
The movie, which came out in September 2025, has received mixed reviews. Some critics praised its touching farewell to the characters Ed and Lorraine, but others found the horror aspects disappointing. Currently, it has a 57% rating from critics and a stronger 77% rating from general audiences on Rotten Tomatoes.
However, it ultimately became the most financially successful film in The Conjuring series. Despite a production budget of around $55 million, the movie grossed almost $500 million worldwide (according to Box Office Mojo).
