Paul Mescal would rather not be one click away.
The 30-year-old actor explained that he stopped using social media after becoming well-known for his role in the 2020 series, Normal People.
He realized he had a problem when the show Normal People began gaining popularity. He remembers thinking that if he didn’t get rid of it then, it would stick with him indefinitely, forcing him to promote it with trailers and other materials. He explained to British GQ that it’s incredibly difficult to avoid public attention and commentary once something goes viral.
He also pointed out that people might not even be familiar with your work, and instead focus on superficial things, like your appearance.
Though the lead actor from Hamnet doesn’t use social media, he feels fortunate to have achieved success without it, considering it a real benefit.
He feels fortunate to be where he is, recognizing how much luck has played a role in his success. He emphasized that he’s always been chosen by directors, not studios, and believes that’s important for actors to keep in mind. He also admits he might not choose the same career path again, as it could potentially restrict the types of roles he’s offered.
Paul disagrees with the notion that some people wouldn’t have achieved success without being active on social media.
“That’s really disappointing,” the Aftersun star said. “It’s uninspired for studios to keep depending on the same faces. We’re right to point out that there aren’t many new stars, and it’s obvious why—we see the same actors in everything!”

When it comes to the celebrity model he wants to follow, Paul admires another famous Paul.
He explained that Paul Newman’s appeal stemmed from his effortless style and coolness, particularly at events like the Venice Film Festival. Newman would make a striking appearance, then quietly slip away.
Besides limiting his time on social media, Paul is also keeping his personal life, including his relationship with Gracie Abrams, private. He’s previously explained that he doesn’t intend to share details about their quiet romance.
Paul told Rolling Stone in September that their connection means everything to him and he feels a strong need to safeguard it.

In June 2024, football player Jason Kelce jokingly responded to a fan on Twitter who commented that he appeared to not wash his legs or feet, tweeting, “What kind of weirdo washes their feet…”
The retired Philadelphia Eagles player later doubled down on his comments.
On his podcast, New Heights with his brother Travis Kelce, Patrick Mahomes joked, “What kind of person washes your feet?” He then added, “If I see dirt on them, I’ll scrub it off.”

More than ten years after actor Kristen Stewart shared a story about witnessing a clown’s death in a car accident at the circus when he was a child, he confessed that the story was made up.
I’ll never forget how confidently Robert said it when he spoke to The New York Times Style Magazine last December. He described his immediate reaction as pure disbelief, practically asking if the person he was talking to was possessed! It was such a strong, instinctive response – there wasn’t a moment’s doubt in his voice.
As for what he said during the 2011 Today interview promoting his film Water for Elephants?
He explained that one of the clowns had died in an accident. Their miniature car exploded while they were driving it, and it was a frightening experience for everyone there. People immediately rushed out of the area.

Grandma knows best.
Kim Kardashian recently shared a personal story on her show, The Kardashians, about how her grandmother, Mary Jo “MJ” Campbell, unexpectedly played a role in a private moment with her then-boyfriend, Pete Davidson, back in October 2022.
Kim Kardashian shared a story with her mom, Kris Jenner, and sister Khloe Kardashian about a weekend at the Beverly Hills Hotel. She said she and Pete Davidson were chatting by the fireplace for hours when she remembered something her grandmother told her: that having sex in front of a fireplace is a way to truly live life. Inspired by this, they ended up having sex by the fireplace as a tribute to Kris.
Grandma’s reaction? A nod of approval.
Kim jokingly remarked, “It’s weird to think about your grandma right before being intimate!” MJ responded with a laugh, “I know, but everyone has a past!”

Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher have a very close family, including their children, 8-year-old Wyatt and 6-year-old Dimitri, and their love for each other is incredibly strong.
So much so, that the Black Swan actress revealed they keep an open-door policy at home.
She told TopMob News in September 2022 that this extends to the bathroom. She explained it’s simply become normal for her family and children to openly discuss and accept natural bodily functions.
Mila explained that she finally gave in after her family repeatedly asked to come inside. She said she just decided to leave the door open rather than continue refusing them.
Pre-kids, she might not have imagined she’d flush that particular boundary away.
She said she always thought she’d be someone who needed privacy in the bathroom, but now she’s comfortable with the door open.

Jennifer Garner admitted to a funny on-set mishap while filming the 2007 movie The Kingdom. She accidentally bit her own tongue during a fight scene – a bit more than she intended!
Jennifer shared that the director, Pete Berg, instructed Sala Baker to attempt to harm her during a scene. She explained they hadn’t rehearsed much, and Berg told her to prioritize her own safety and do whatever it took to survive.
She continued, explaining that they both jumped into action, and she ended up climbing onto his back. She actually bit his ear – they even have a photo to prove it, showing where a piece of his ear was bitten off! They weren’t joking around at all.

Ghouls just want to have fun.
During an October 2022 episode of The View, while discussing a woman who claimed her home was haunted by “sexual ghosts,” Sara Haines posed a surprising question to her co-hosts: “Is it possible to get pregnant from a ghost?”
Luckily, Joy Behar, her co-host, chimed in with a humorous response: “I’ve had encounters with ghosts and never gotten pregnant.”
“I’m going to leave that statement as is,” Whoopi Goldberg responded. “I’m not sure everyone heard what Joy just said, but I’m choosing not to comment further on it.”

Jenna Bush Hager and Hoda Kotb are very close friends, but Hoda recently learned something surprising about her “Today” co-host. While preparing for an episode of “Today with Hoda and Jenna,” Hoda found out that Jenna always goes without underwear.
Hoda recounted a funny moment from the November 2022 episode of Today with Hoda and Jenna. They both needed to change outfits and had to go back to the dressing room, but Hoda realized Jenna doesn’t wear underwear.
Jenna’s rationale? Well, no underwear might just be more convenient to her.
Honestly, I’m a big believer in streamlined wardrobes – and it really shows in your overall look! What I’ve found is that choosing pieces that work together creates a much more flattering shape. Plus, the best part? You end up packing so much lighter! There are just so many benefits to simplifying your style.

Looks like someone hasn’t been keeping up.
Britney Spears related to a popular line from Keke Palmer – “He could be walking down the street, I wouldn’t know a thing” – and confessed she wasn’t familiar with Pete Davidson or Scott Disick.
Britney shared a funny video from March showing Pete Davidson—who was dating Kim Kardashian at the time—and Kourtney Kardashian’s ex, Scott Disick, having a night out together. She said the video had her laughing a lot.
Britney explained she was re-sharing the post because she didn’t know who was in the video, but it had made her laugh a lot!

Before Chris Evans became famous as Captain America and was named People’s Sexiest Man Alive in 2022, Jana Kramer dated him and thought he was a handsome and charming guy.
The singer shared on her podcast, Whine Down with Jana Kramer, that this happened over ten years ago. While she doesn’t remember exactly how many times they went out, she does remember their final meeting.
I remember Jana telling me that Chris invited her to his place when he had some friends visiting all the way from Boston. She was around 26 at the time, and it seemed like a casual get-together.
Jana recalled that the last thing she remembered was her partner going to the bathroom right after she’d gone, noting that eating asparagus can change the smell of urine. They didn’t spend the night together; he stayed up late with friends, and she left his house the next morning feeling embarrassed.
She added, “I never heard from him again.”

Not all of these confessions are amusing.
In December, television writer Elisabeth Finch confessed that she had fabricated a story about having a rare bone cancer. She had originally shared this false diagnosis with ELLE magazine eight years prior, and it even became the basis for a plotline on the show Grey’s Anatomy.
Elisabeth recently confessed to telling a lie at age 34, which she describes as the biggest regret of her life. She explained to The Ankler newsletter that the falsehood grew over time and became increasingly difficult to confront. She also clarified, ‘I have never had any form of cancer.’
After being temporarily removed from his role on the ABC medical drama and ultimately resigning, Finch admitted, “I messed up badly. My actions were completely unacceptable, and I take full responsibility.”

Beauty is pain, but Kim Kardashian might be able to stomach it.
The reality star told The New York Times she’d consider almost any procedure to look younger, joking that she was open to trying everything.
She admitted in June that she’d even consider something extreme – like eating something disgusting daily – if it meant she could look younger. She emphasized she was serious, saying, ‘I just might!’
In a July 2022 interview with Allure, Kim admitted she was mostly joking when she made the comment, but also thought it wasn’t a bad idea.
Kim admitted, after some thought, that she’d likely do almost anything for youth, even something disgusting. She said she’d probably eat something awful, like a bowl of waste, every day if someone promised it would make her look younger.
When asked if she had room for more food, she said she might be able to manage a small bite, but definitely couldn’t eat a full bowl.

Jelly Roll could’ve used some saving from himself.
During an appearance on The Jennifer Hudson Show in April 2025, the singer of “Save Me” shared a particularly embarrassing story, and he didn’t hesitate to tell all the details.
“I pooped myself one time,” he admitted. “I did, I’m sorry.”
To be honest, Jelly Roll (whose real name is Jason Bradley DeFord) didn’t intend to cause such serious harm.
He firmly believed it was just a misunderstanding. “I sincerely apologize,” he said. “I saw the audience turn from supportive to completely against me.”
