For the next 72 hours, Steam users can download a PC game normally priced at $10 completely free! You’ll be able to keep the game until March 9th. This is the first time this particular game has been offered for free, and the reason is currently unknown, though publisher GrabTheGames has run free giveaways before. Steam Deck users should note that the game’s compatibility hasn’t been confirmed.
A new free game is available on Steam called Crowalt: Traces of the Lost Colony. Developed by Macraft Studios, this pixel art point-and-click adventure game was released in 2022 and is the studio’s first title. Early Steam reviews suggest it’s a pretty good game in its genre.
“A Nice Point-and-Click Adventure”
Players on Steam really like Crowalt: Traces of the Lost Colony, giving it a “Very Positive” rating based on 80 reviews. This means 80% of reviewers recommend the game, making it one of the highest scores a PC game can get on the platform.
I’ve been reading the reviews for this game, and it sounds really good! One of the top reviews says it’s a fun point-and-click adventure with a story that really pulls you in – I’m definitely curious about the Lost Colony now. Another reviewer called it relaxing but challenging, and said the story is actually really touching. It sounds like exactly the kind of game I’d enjoy!
With 80% of reviews being positive, about 20% are negative, and those criticisms mainly focus on the game being too simple, uninteresting, and having a clunky interface. If you generally don’t enjoy point-and-click adventure games, this one likely won’t change your mind. However, if you do like the genre, and especially appreciate a subtle or dry sense of humor, you might find something to enjoy here.
If you’re thinking of trying this PC game, it’s now available for free on Steam and will likely take around three to five hours to complete. If you prefer playing on consoles, you can find it on Nintendo Switch or Xbox Series X, but it isn’t currently free on those platforms.
