Like many projects from James Gunn, the show *Peacemaker* centers around a close-knit, unconventional family. The relationships between the characters, nicknamed “The 11th Street Kids,” provide a strong emotional center, balancing out the show’s over-the-top humor and violence. Some of the most enjoyable scenes are simply watching these characters interact. Viewers have especially connected with the bond between Adrian Chase (Vigilante) and Christopher Smith, with Adrian looking up to Christopher as an older brother and best friend. While Adrian hasn’t had much focus in the current season, a preview for the next episode hints that will soon change.
HBO Max has released a new teaser for the sixth episode of *Peacemaker* Season 2, titled “Ignorance is Chris.” The clip shows Vigilante, fully suited up as a superhero, as the 11th Street Kids get ready to journey to another dimension and rescue Chris. You can watch the teaser video below.
Vigilante Finally Returns to Action in “Ignorance is Chris”
Freddie Stroma has been in every episode of *Peacemaker* Season 2, but his character, Adrian, hasn’t been very involved in the main storylines. The show has primarily focused on Chris’s journey through the multiverse and developing the stories of characters like Emilia Harcourt and Leota Adebayo. This has been a letdown for some viewers, as Stroma continues to deliver a funny and engaging performance whenever he’s on screen. After Season 1 hinted at a deeper, more interesting side to Adrian, fans are frustrated that the current season hasn’t given him much to do.
With three episodes still to come, the storyline involving Vigilante might be turning a corner, and “Ignorance is Chris” could be the start of a comeback. His full superhero costume suggests he’s about to be involved in some action. After showing off impressive fighting skills in Season 1, it’ll be exciting to see him in action again as he tries to rescue his friend. Meanwhile, as the 11th Street Kids plan their dimensional travel, Adrian is hoping to meet another version of himself, potentially hinting at a future conflict with his alternate self.
As a huge fan of *Peacemaker*, I’m really hoping they explore Adrian’s role in the emotional core of Season 2. The reason Chris is so fixated on that alternate reality is because his brother Keith is alive and well, and they have a strong connection. It would be incredibly powerful if, as the season wraps up, Chris realizes he actually *has* a brother back in his own world – Adrian. That would be a beautiful way to come full circle, especially building on the hilarious chemistry between Peacemaker and Vigilante we loved in Season 1. Imagine Chris having that realization, but *also* discovering some unpleasant truths about this perfect alternate world – and even about Keith himself. It would really drive home the idea that things aren’t always as good as they seem, you know? It would add some real depth to the show.
James Gunn deliberately kept the last three episodes of *Peacemaker* Season 2 under wraps to avoid spoilers. He and his team have clearly planned something huge and surprising, potentially with lasting consequences for the DC Universe. It’s exciting to see Vigilante playing a major role as the season builds to its climax, and fans are hoping Adrian’s storyline leads to a satisfying reunion with his friend.
