Action movies are still incredibly popular in cinemas. The genre consistently delivers big hits, thrilling stunts, and impressive visuals, as seen in films like John Wick: Chapter 4 and Godzilla Minus One. Now, Peacock subscribers can enjoy a major action film from the 2020s, which became available on the streaming service this March, with another installment planned for the future.
While fans eagerly await the next Fast & Furious film, Fast Forever, scheduled for release in 2028, they can currently enjoy Fast X on Peacock. Released in theaters as one of 2023’s biggest hits, the film began streaming on March 15th. As the 11th movie in the popular franchise (following F9), Fast X centers on Vin Diesel’s character, Dominic Toretto, as he works to shield his family from Dante Reyes, the son of a villain defeated in Fast Five, who is determined to take everything Dom holds dear. The film features returning cast members like Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Ludacris, Jordana Brewster, and Sung Kang, as well as new additions Jason Momoa and Brie Larson.
Fast X Was a Massive Success for the Action-Packed Fast & Furious Saga
The Fast & Furious series consistently produces successful films, and Fast X continued that trend. What started as a story about street racing has become a huge, globe-spanning action series – it’s Universal’s biggest franchise and one of the highest-grossing film series ever. Fast X opened strongly in theaters and quickly topped the box office charts. Despite costing $378 million to make – making it the sixth most expensive film ever – Fast X earned $714 million worldwide, becoming one of the top-grossing films of 2023.
While critics weren’t thrilled with Fast X (giving it a 56% rating on Rotten Tomatoes), audiences loved it, awarding it an impressive 84% on the Popcornmeter – one of the highest scores in the series. The film delivers exactly what Fast & Furious fans want: over-the-top, escapist action. Expect incredible, physics-defying stunts, thrilling car chases, and explosive set pieces that will keep you entertained. It’s a classic blockbuster experience, complete with spectacular action sequences, a globe-trotting story, and nods to the fan-favorite Fast Five. Jason Momoa also shines as the new villain, bringing a lot of energy and chaos to the film.
What’s New on Peacock?
This March, Peacock added the latest installment in the Fast & Furious saga, Fast X, to its streaming selection. It joins other recent additions like Burn After Reading, Fast Times at Ridgemont High, John Wick: Chapter 4, and The Other Guys. And on March 20th, the highly anticipated Wicked: For Good will also become available on the platform.
