‘ sequel series has found its Duke Shelby — again.
A new report from Deadline says the upcoming show created by Steven Knight has replaced the actor playing Duke Shelby, Tommy Shelby’s son. This is the second time the role has been recast in four years. Jamie Bell, known for his work in Rocketman and All of Us Strangers, will now play Duke and lead the next part of the story.
The choice of Bell to play the character continues a recent pattern of unexpected casting. The character first appeared in the last season of the BBC series, played by Conrad Khan, and was then featured in the Netflix film Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man with Barry Keoghan.
It’s exciting to see the story moving ahead! It feels like they’re really bringing Duke Shelby back to the forefront as the main character, and this time, Bell is the one leading the charge. It’s a bit of a fresh start for the whole series, and I’m eager to see where it goes with him in control.
