Fans of Peaky Blinders are still excited about the show continuing with two more seasons after the next movie, and now creator Steven Knight has shared some new information.
The writer hinted that the upcoming version of the show, taking place in the 1950s, could be an improvement over previous versions of the story.
In a recent interview with Broadcast, Knight explained the reason for bringing the show back: they believed there was still strong audience interest.
I generally follow my own inclinations when deciding what to work on,” Knight said. “Alongside the success of Peaky Blinders, I’ve been building a studio in Birmingham, and it’s finally ready.”
We’ll be able to film the next series here, and that’s largely due to the BBC’s investment in the area, which is making projects like this feasible.

Details about the new season are still scarce, but we know it will take place in Birmingham, England, in 1953. The story will focus on rebuilding the city with concrete and steel after the devastation of World War II, aiming for a brighter future.
The latest season of Peaky Blinders focuses on the intense struggle to control Birmingham’s major rebuilding efforts. It’s a time of incredible chance and risk, and the Shelby family is at the very center of the violent conflict.
Cillian Murphy, the actor known for playing Tommy Shelby, will be back as a producer, but it’s still unclear if he’ll appear in the new season. The cast hasn’t been revealed yet.
Good news for fans: Eddie Murphy will reprise his famous role in a new movie set during World War II.
I’m excited to see some fresh faces joining the cast – Rebecca Ferguson, Barry Keoghan, Tim Roth, and Jay Lycurgo are all on board. Thankfully, we’ll also be seeing some familiar ones like Stephen Graham, Sophie Rundle, Ned Dennehy, Ian Peck, and Packy Lee. But honestly, it’s still up in the air whether these actors, new or returning, will be back for future seasons. The story could really go in any direction!
