Fellow Traveler will publish the narrative adventure game Penguin Colony, developed by Origame Digital, on both the upcoming Switch 2 and PC (via Steam) in 2026. The game’s release on the Switch 2 was just recently confirmed.
Here is an overview of the game, via Fellow Traveller:
Penguin Colony is a story-driven game with Lovecraftian themes, created by Origame Digital, the studio behind the acclaimed game Umurangi Generation.
Taking inspiration from Lovecraftian tales like At the Mountains of Madness, Penguin Colony presents a unique take on cosmic horror – it’s told from the point of view of a penguin!
Journey to the icy world of Antarctica, where you’ll freely explore vast landscapes by waddling, sliding, and swimming across the frozen terrain. Discover the story of two groups who have come to this remote place: one trying to control a powerful, ancient entity they don’t fully understand, and the other attempting to put it back to sleep.

You’ll get to experience the game as various penguins, each with their own special skills and weaknesses that affect how you explore. Some penguins can squeeze into small, secret areas, while others are strong swimmers, letting you see the world from different angles and uncover its secrets.
As you play, you’ll learn about two groups drawn to Antarctica by mysterious, powerful forces. The story is revealed through what you discover in the environment and through narration, slowly uncovering a disturbing truth hidden under the ice.
You’ll be able to try out the game Penguin Colony with a playable demo during the Summer Game Fest in June. It will be featured as part of Steam Next Fest and Fellow Traveller’s Story Rich Showcase.
At launch, the game will be available in Japanese, Simplified Chinese, Brazilian Portuguese, Arabic, and Te Reo Māori, meaning it’s already translated into these languages from the start.
