Be warned, this article reveals major plot points from the season finale of Percy Jackson and the Olympians! The season ended with a big battle as Percy and his friends raced back to Camp Half-Blood with the Golden Fleece. They discovered their former ally, Luke, was trying to break through the camp’s defenses. Percy quickly rallied the demigods, and together they fought off Luke’s attack.
It was also discovered that Chris Rodriguez was working against them. Tantalus suffered a terrible, burning death. In the final moments of the scene, Thalia, who Zeus had turned into a tree, was brought back to life by the Golden Fleece. This revival leads to the question from the Great Prophecy: will she be the one to save Olympus, or will she ultimately cause its destruction?
Craig Silverstein, an executive producer on the show, recently discussed several exciting developments with ComicBook. He talked about shifting alliances between characters, a key moment referencing Avengers: Endgame, the return of Thalia, the introduction of Atlas, and the possibility of seeing Logan Lerman—who originally played Percy Jackson—make a guest appearance.
In the comic book’s finale, the camp is attacked. Luke is torn because he’s following Kronus’s orders while also leading the assault – how does he grapple with that internal conflict?
According to Craig Silverstein, Luke hopes a strong attack on the camp would convince the campers to surrender peacefully, as discussed in episode three. He believes that if Percy hadn’t motivated them to fight, this might have happened. Silverstein suggests Luke is conflicted, torn between this desire for peace and the powerful, manipulative influence of Kronos.

The last episode hinted that Luke might be starting to regret choosing Kronos’s side.
Luke is a deeply conflicted character, and that internal struggle isn’t resolved by the end of the story. It remains a key part of his journey.
It also appears Kronos has a huge following. Can you explain how you determined Chris Rodriguez was a traitor? And what does this defection reveal about the changing balance of power and who people are loyal to?
Chris is the son of Hermes and a friend of Luke. The story, based on the books, reveals that Chris becomes a traitor and fights alongside Kronos, which happens around the fourth book. We’re bringing that storyline back into the current season. Chris’s actions feel logical within the narrative, and I’m wondering if readers of the books would have suspected him all along.
Could you discuss how you created the scene where Percy and Luke’s armies face off before fighting? It felt similar to the build-up before the final battle in Avengers: Endgame.
This is a significant achievement, but it’s really just the beginning. They’ve successfully defended the outer limits of their camp, repelling an initial invasion. However, this isn’t the end of the conflict – more challenges will undoubtedly arise. As part of their efforts, they’ve secured the golden fleece and reinforced a defensive wall.

How close were you to having a scene where somebody slaps the crap out of Alison?
We still haven’t found her. She’s still missing, and it seems like she’s been waiting a long time for this confrontation. Alison is incredibly important, as you pointed out. Kronos has a huge number of followers, but they aren’t all gods. They’re individuals with differing motivations. Alison is a dedicated follower, which provides a strong contrast to Luke’s position. I really like Alison, and I think she’s about to get her chance to act.
Tyson rescues his brother Percy from Luke. It was great to see the Cyclops get a chance to be the hero – how meaningful was that moment?
We consistently highlight Tyson’s strengths. He’s always carried the weight of past struggles – the idea that he had to fight to survive even before becoming a monster hunter. This meant he was naturally resilient and capable. However, Tyson actively tries to control his fighting spirit, because he’s rightfully afraid of his own power to harm others. When his brother needs him, the person who overcame those early battles and didn’t back down will emerge, and that’s someone you definitely want as an ally in the future.
This episode uncovers what really happened when Thalia changed. How does learning this new information affect the way Percy views Thalia, the prophecy, and the gods?
Ever since learning about the prophecy, Percy has been constantly anxious, fearing he’d either be the one to destroy Olympus or the one to save it. He was finally preparing to admit to the others at camp that he might be the one destined to fulfill it. But just as he was about to say it, he discovered someone else might be the key. Now, Percy worries about this other person even more than he worried about himself – their potential is double the source of his anxiety.
Percy realizes Thalia has a very good reason to be angry with the gods. While Percy himself felt abandoned by his father and held some resentment, it doesn’t compare to what Zeus did to Thalia. He gets why she’d be furious with Zeus and, by extension, all of Olympus.
Season three is currently being filmed. Fans are wondering how quickly they’ll find out what Thalia’s position is when the new season begins.
That is the question of season three and you will get it in scene one.
Everyone knows Atlas will be appearing in the new season. How does his involvement increase the tension and motivate Percy to fully accept his destiny?
We’ve been hearing whispers of the Titans – voices in dreams and now a direct mental connection from the sarcophagus where Kronos is regaining power. But beyond Kronos, we’ve only known the other Titans as legends. Atlas is the first Titan anyone will actually meet, and that’s a game-changer. It’s not just big news for Percy and the demigods; it’s huge for the Olympians, who haven’t faced a real threat equal to themselves in thousands of years.
The actors have expressed interest in having the original Percy Jackson movie cast appear in cameos, with many hoping to see Logan Lerman play Triton. Have you considered reaching out to them, and is that something you’d like to make happen?
We haven’t contacted Logan Lerman yet, but there was discussion about him even before the first season. Luckily, there’s plenty more story and many characters still to come, so anything is possible. It’s hard to say if it will happen, though.
