Percy Jackson Season 2 Family Tree: Every Greek God & Their Children (Pictures)

Season 2 of Disney+’s Percy Jackson builds on the Greek mythology introduced in the first season, further exploring the relationships between the gods and their families. Based on Rick Riordan’s The Sea of Monsters, the show offers a new take on the classic story, combining Greek mythology with an exciting adventure for a group of young heroes. The series acknowledges the complex history of the gods – including their love affairs and family connections – and adds its own creative spin.

The first two seasons of Percy Jackson and the Olympians have brought a large cast of characters to life, including Greek Gods, demigods, and mortals. While staying true to Rick Riordan’s books with many key scenes, Season 2 also expands the world by introducing new characters and deepening the mythology. The show draws heavily from Greek myths, offering fresh takes on the ancient Gods, their relationships, and the demigod children they have.

Percy Jackson Season 2 Family Tree – The Mythology’s Greek Gods & Their Relatives

Percy Jackson

Let me tell you about Walker Scobell, who absolutely shines as Percy Jackson in the new Percy Jackson and the Olympians series. He plays a demigod – a son of both a human mom, Sally Jackson, and Poseidon, the powerful Greek god of the sea. That makes Percy seriously strong, because Poseidon is one of the ‘big three’ gods, along with Zeus and Hades. Season two brings us Percy’s half-brother, Tyson, and the show hints we might meet another half-brother, Triton, down the line – he’s Poseidon’s oldest and a full-on god himself!

Sally Jackson

Sally Jackson, portrayed by Virginia Kull, is Percy Jackson’s mother. She had Percy after a relationship with the god Poseidon. She’s married to Gabe Ugliano at the beginning of the story, both in the books and the first two seasons of the Disney+ series. Later, she remarries and has a daughter named Estelle Blofis, making her Percy’s half-sister.

Gabe Ugliano

Timm Sharp appears as a minor but important character in the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series, being Sally Jackson’s former husband and Percy Jackson’s stepfather. He’s known for mistreating both Sally and Percy, and is a regular human with no significant ties to the other characters or the world of mythology within the story.

Poseidon

Toby Stephens plays Poseidon, the Greek god of the sea, in the Percy Jackson series. He has several children, including Percy Jackson, who is the result of a relationship with Sally Jackson. He also has Tyson (in season 2) and three children – Triton, Kymopoleia, and Rhodes – with his wife, the goddess Amphitrite.

Poseidon was the son of Kronos and Rhea, and he had several siblings, including the powerful gods Zeus, Hades, Hera, Demeter, and Hestia. He was considered one of the three most powerful gods – along with Zeus and Hades – and they all agreed not to have children with humans. However, Poseidon later broke this agreement. Interestingly, Annabeth Chase is actually Poseidon’s niece.

Tyson

Daniel Diemer will be joining the cast of Percy Jackson Season 2, playing Tyson – Percy’s half-brother and another child of Poseidon. Tyson was abandoned as a baby by his Naiad mother and left to grow up on the streets, but he’s now beginning to build a brotherly bond with Percy.

Procrustes

Julian Richings, known for his work in the movie Percy Jackson and the Olympians, now appears in the Disney+ series as the character Procrustes, nicknamed Crusty. Crusty is the son of Poseidon and shares a half-sibling relationship with Percy Jackson and Tyson.

Kronos

Kronos hasn’t appeared in a physical body, but he’s a powerful Titan known as the father of many of the gods from the Percy Jackson series. He’s the parent of the powerful trio – Zeus, Poseidon, and Hades – as well as other Olympians like Hera, Demeter, and Hestia. Through his children, Kronos is also a grandfather to figures like Athena, Apollo, Artemis, Hermes, Dionysus, Percy Jackson, Tyson, Ares, and many others.

Zeus

After the passing of Lance Reddick, Courtney B. Vance will now play the character of Zeus in Season 2 of Percy Jackson. As one of the powerful Big Three gods – along with Poseidon and Hades – Zeus has several siblings, including Hera, Demeter, and Hestia. He recently broke a long-standing agreement with his brothers by having a daughter, Thalia, with a mortal woman named Meryl Grace.

Hades

Hades, played by Jay Duplass, completes the trio of powerful brothers known as the Big Three (Duplass won’t be in Season 2). He’s the brother of Poseidon and Zeus, as well as Hera, Demeter, and Hestia. Through his brothers’ children, Hades is an uncle to Percy Jackson, Thalia, and Tyson.

Chiron

Glynn Turman plays Chiron in the Percy Jackson series. Chiron is an immortal centaur who works as an activities director at Camp Half-Blood. He has a fascinating family history – his parents were Kronos and the nymph Philyra, making him the half-brother of major gods like Zeus, Poseidon, Hades, Hera, Demeter, and Hestia.

Hephaestus

Timothy Omundson played Hephaestus in one episode of Season 1. Hephaestus is the god of blacksmiths, fire, technology, and all things crafted. He’s the son of Zeus and Hera, and the brother of Ares, the god of war. Hephaestus is also the nephew of Hades and Poseidon, and shares half-siblings with Zeus’s other children.

Ares

Wrestling superstar Adam Copeland will be joining the world of Percy Jackson as Ares, the Greek God of War. Ares is the son of Zeus and Hera, and the brother of Hephaestus. He has family ties to many of the heroes in the series – he’s Percy Jackson and Tyson’s uncle, Annabeth and Thalia’s cousin, and Clarisse La Rue’s father.

Dionysus

Jason Mantzoukas delivers a standout performance as Dionysus, also known as Mr. D, in Percy Jackson. Mr. D is the god of wine and the director of Camp Half-Blood. Though his family connections haven’t been fully revealed yet, he’s Percy’s half-uncle and shares a father, Zeus, with several other gods and figures, including Hermes, Apollo, Athena, Tantalus, and Thalia.

Tantalus

In Season 2 of Percy Jackson, Timothy Simons joins the cast as Tantalus, a demigod king known for his curse. He takes over as the activities director at Camp Half-Blood after Chiron steps down. Tantalus has a unique family history: his mother was a human named Plouto, but his father was Zeus, making him a sibling to other famous demigods like Hermes, Apollo, Athena, Thalia, and Dionysus.

Hermes

Lin-Manuel Miranda, the songwriter behind hits like Moana and Hamilton, is playing the role of Hermes, the Greek God of travelers, in the Percy Jackson series. Hermes is the son of Zeus and Maya, making him the half-brother of other Gods like Apollo and Athena. He’s also the father of Luke Castellan and Chris Rodriguez, and his relationship with these demigods will be a key part of the story.

Annabeth Chase

Leah Sava Jeffries plays Annabeth Chase, one of the main heroes in the Percy Jackson series. Annabeth is quickly established as the daughter of Athena, the Greek goddess of wisdom (who will be portrayed by Andra Day in Season 2). This makes Zeus her grandfather and Poseidon her great-uncle, meaning Annabeth and Percy Jackson are distant relatives. While her mortal father becomes important later in the books, her divine heritage is revealed early on.

Thalia Grace

In Season 2 of Percy Jackson, we meet Thalia Grace, portrayed by Tamara Smart. Thalia is the only child of Zeus who was forbidden, and she was transformed into a tree before reappearing in the season. She has several older half-siblings: Hermes, Apollo, Athena, Tantalus, and Dionysus.

Luke Castellan

In the Percy Jackson series, Luke Castellan, portrayed by Charlie Bushnell, is a key antagonist. The show reveals early on that his father is the god Hermes. Later, Season 2 hints at a brotherly connection between Luke and Chris Rodriguez, establishing them as half-brothers.

Clarisse La Rue

Clarisse La Rue, portrayed by Dior Goodjohn, is a major rival to Percy Jackson at Camp Half-Blood. As the daughter of the god Ares, she doesn’t appear until the second season. Interestingly, her grandparents are Zeus and Hera, making her a cousin to both Annabeth and Luke. Despite their conflict, Clarisse and Percy are actually distant cousins, and the same relationship exists between Clarisse and Tyson.

Chris Rodriguez

In Season 2 of Percy Jackson, Chris Rodriguez is played by Kevin Chacon, taking over from Andrew Alvarez. Chris has a significantly larger role this season, and it’s revealed he’s another son of Hermes and a half-brother to Luke Castellan.

Alison Simms

Season 2 of Percy Jackson introduces a brand new character, Alison Simms, played by Beatrice Kitsos. Unlike the characters in the original books, Alison is an original creation for the show. She fights alongside Luke Castellan and is revealed to be a daughter of Apollo with family ties to several other major gods, including Hermes, Athena, Tantalus, Dionysus, and Thalia.

The second season of Percy Jackson and the Olympians is currently being released, adapting Rick Riordan’s novel The Sea of Monsters. Starring Walker Scobell, Aryan Simhadri, and Leah Sava Jeffries, the new season follows Percy and Annabeth as they journey to the Bermuda Triangle to find a powerful item. Their mission is to safeguard Camp Half-Blood from looming threats. The first two episodes are now available to stream on Disney+.
