Peter Capaldi thriller The Devil’s Hour confirms release window

As a devoted fan of gripping dramas that keep me on the edge of my seat, I can hardly contain my excitement for the return of “The Devil’s Hour”! Having binge-watched the first season last autumn and being left with an insatiable craving for more, I’ve eagerly been awaiting news about its second installment.

Although the specific launch date for The Devil’s Hour season 2 hasn’t been revealed as of now, we do have information about when it will become available on Amazon Prime Video this year.

Excitedly, I can’t wait to share the news: Season 2 of that captivating fantasy series we all love is coming back to our screens this fall! It’s fantastic to know that the UK original production, starring Peter Capaldi and Jessica Raine, will be rejoining us.

Without a doubt, we’re confident that the upcoming episode will fit seamlessly into our television lineup towards the end of the year, given how audiences tend to prefer intense dramas during the longer nights.

Back in October 2022, the initial season was aired. It’s possible that the second season might appear next, though we need to stay tuned for updates.

Filming for the second season commenced in February 2023, and we caught a brief glimpse of actress Jessica Raine resuming her role as Lucy Chambers on set.

In addition, the collection of unseen photos provided a sneak peek at the return of cast members Meera Syal and Benjamin Chivers.

Absolutely, there’s no need for fans to fret that season 2 could be the final one. In fact, production on season 3 has already begun.

It was revealed in March that Season 3 will indeed be produced, with Capaldi, Raine, Syal, Nikesh Patel, Alex Ferns, Saffron Hocking, and Phil Dunster all set to reappear on the show.

The show centers around social worker Lucy (Raine), who is disturbed each night by chilling dreams that occur exactly at 3:33 am, often referred to as the witching hour.

In a multitude of intriguing ways, the series unfolded the link between Lucy and the murderer Gideon (Capaldi). The second season promises to delve even deeper into the darkness.

Initially, Raine had mentioned that she saw the Prime Video series as a trilogy for her character. She explained: “One thing that drew me to the job was that the entire first season’s script was already written when we began shooting on the first day, so I knew the exact direction it was heading.”

“I also knew that he [writer Tom Moran] had a season 2 and a season 3 planned out.”

She added: “If approved, that’s essentially what it would become, and I truly hope it receives the go-ahead.”

Regarding Season 2, specifics are being kept confidential, but it’s been described as both a continuation (sequel) and an origin story (prequel) of the events in Season 1.

I’m excited to share that I’ve just discovered “The Devil’s Hour” Season 1, now available for streaming on Amazon Prime Video! If you haven’t already, you can join the fun by signing up for a free 30-day trial. Enjoy the chills and thrills!
