Phantom Blade Zero is shaping up to be a significant achievement for the Chinese gaming scene, and it’s also generating excitement among PS5 and PC gamers globally.
More than 50% of the game’s wishlists are from outside of China, developer S-Game has revealed.
Although Black Myth: Wukong sold very well, the vast majority of its copies were purchased in China. This suggests that the studio’s new game, Phantom Blade Zero, might be popular with a global audience. Black Myth: Wukong has already sold over 20 million copies, and if Phantom Blade Zero can achieve similar numbers and attract Western players, it could become one of the best-selling games of the year.
The update comes from comments made on Weibo, where the team said:
It’s great to see that we’re still leading the market in China, and now over half of our wishlists are coming from other countries. We’re seeing particularly strong interest from Brazil, Turkey, the Middle East, as well as Europe and the United States.
The post also announced that fans shouldn’t expect a new trailer for Phantom Blade Zero this spring, as has been the case in previous years. S-Game explained they want to dedicate all their energy to finishing and refining the game, with its release now just six months away.
So, making trailers and promotional videos is super important for keeping the hype alive, but honestly, it takes a TON of work. We’re talking a dedicated team just for making different versions, testing them, tweaking things, and re-recording. At the end of the day, though, we always prioritize making a great game over pumping out more ads. Quality always comes first for us.
The game is scheduled to launch on PlayStation 5 and PC on September 9th, 2026. The developers are currently finishing up the game’s content, putting everything together, and rigorously testing it. They’re working hard to make sure the final product is something they’re proud of, given the time, resources, and challenges they’ve faced.
