Kojima Productions has planned a special event, known as Beyond The Strand, to mark its tenth anniversary this month. This occasion will include a live broadcast and will take place at TOHO Cinemas Roppongi Hills on the 23rd of September. The event promises to showcase exclusive guests and give attendees a sneak peek into upcoming projects.
On the following day, you can purchase tickets to attend the show that Hideo Kojima will be hosting, lasting approximately 2.5 hours.
After the release of Death Stranding 2 this summer, Kojima Productions has unveiled two upcoming projects: “OD” in collaboration with Microsoft and “Physint” in partnership with Sony. Since Physint is still at a very early stage of development (with Hideo Kojima himself being the sole worker on it), there’s a stronger possibility that OD will be the project showcased.
The project is collaborating with Microsoft and includes horror film director Jordan Peele as part of its team. Considering the latest cross-platform approach announced by the makers of the Xbox console, there’s speculation that a version for PlayStation 5 might also be under development.
It’s noteworthy to mention that Hideo Kojima isn’t just focused on video games – he has broader ambitions. For instance, a Death Stranding film is in production, jointly with A24. These future endeavors might range from something as casual as a new Hideo Kojima podcast, all the way to developing another game.
While we shouldn’t anticipate major disclosures, the only future initiatives confirmed by Kojima Productions so far are Operation Deadstorm (OD) and Physint.
