GFA Games announced that their online shooter, PIONER, will launch in Early Access on PC (through Steam) on December 16th, just weeks after its open beta. A new trailer has also been released and is available to watch.
PIONER will come in two versions: a standard edition and a Deluxe edition. The Deluxe edition includes extra in-game items like the Renegade armor and weapon skin, a special skin for all AR weapons, the exclusive ‘Founder’ title, 500 Efritanium Crystals, the Creepy Charm weapon accessory, and a Katana watch inspired by 1980s Japanese designs.
I got to check out the open beta for PIONER recently, and there was a ton to do! I played through five acts of the story campaign, and even tried out both the Manufacture and Crash Site raids. If you’re into player-versus-player stuff, they had Deathmatch and a tournament mode called Carnage, which were a blast!
If you’re not sure what to expect from the game PIONER, you can watch a gameplay trailer released in March. It provides a good overview of the game’s deliberate, tactical shooting style. The trailer also shows how players will explore abandoned buildings to find the resources they need to survive.
The trailer revealed a variety of enemies, including jellyfish that float through the air and a gigantic, flying sea creature. Players will also face human opponents, ranging from lightly armed bandits to heavily equipped mercenaries with powerful weapons and strong armor.
PIONER was originally announced in 2021. GFA Games aims to create a game that blends exciting action with genuinely scary horror. Players will also find an RPG system where they can improve their character with new skills and abilities, helping them complete increasingly difficult tasks.
As an online multiplayer game, PIONER will focus heavily on playing with others. You’ll be able to team up with friends to complete missions, which will offer better rewards than playing solo. The game will also include special areas for player-versus-player combat where anything goes.
A key part of the game PIONER will be its detailed crafting system. GFA Games says players will be able to create strong weapons and equipment using found materials, artifacts, and a special energy source called anomaly energy. The system is designed to be both versatile and allow for complex creations.
In PIONER, the main game modes center around Shadowlands, a challenging experience inspired by extraction shooter games. Players will risk it all to survive, hunt for treasure, and navigate dangerous environments – all while watching out for other players. To help with these intense multiplayer matches, the game includes social features like a clan system, allowing players to connect, communicate, and share resources with each other.
