It appears that Electronic Arts (EA) and PopCap Games are planning to release an enhanced version of the original Plants vs. Zombies game on PlayStation 5 within the upcoming two months, according to recent leaks and reports.
It appears that some files related to a potential Plants vs. Zombies remaster have been found recently on the Chinese version of an Electronic Arts (EA) website. These files include key art, which matches an age rating leak from earlier this year. This morning, a reliable source, Billbil-Kun from Dealabs, has published a detailed report on these findings, suggesting that a Plants vs. Zombies remaster might be in the works.
As per the information, the title of the project is “Plants vs. Zombies: Replanted”, slated for launch on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC on 23rd October 2025. The leaker suggests that it will be priced at €19.99, which would translate to a slightly lower cost in the UK and USA.
It’s been hinted that we can expect an official announcement for this project within the upcoming month. Since Gamescom is in August, it’s possible that Geoff Keighley may have secured the reveal during that time. Alternatively, there are whispers of a Nintendo Direct happening next week, which could also be where they confirm the project. Either way, both scenarios seem plausible for such an announcement.
