PlayStation fans chose a new Konami game as the best PS5 game for September 2025, according to a vote on the official PlayStation Blog. It received an impressive 49% of the votes – significantly more than any other game, with only one other title reaching double-digit support. This shows how much PlayStation’s dedicated fans are enjoying the new release.
We previously reported that the announcement of *Silent Hill f* caused a lot of disagreement among dedicated *Silent Hill* fans, and that’s still the case. However, it appears the game is very popular with PlayStation gamers overall. In the PlayStation Blog’s September 2025 game of the month poll, the Konami title received almost half of all votes. The only other PlayStation 5 game that came close was *Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter*, which received 34% of the votes.
September 2025’s Top New Game
The voting was heavily dominated by *Silent Hill f* and, to a lesser extent, *Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter*. No other game received more than 1% of the votes, except for the popular indie title *Hollow Knight: Silksong*, which earned 9%.

While the monthly PlayStation Blog poll doesn’t reflect all PlayStation players, it does give a good idea of what the most dedicated fans are thinking.
2025’s Best Horror Game
With a score of 85 on Metacritic, *Silent Hill f* is currently the top-rated horror game of 2025, and it’s likely to stay that way for the rest of the year. We also had a lot of positive things to say about the Konami game in our official review. However, it’s unclear if future *Silent Hill* games will follow this same style. *Silent Hill f* differs from previous games in the series, leaning more towards action and exploring different themes. Konami has recently confirmed that they are still planning to create more traditionally styled *Silent Hill* games.
