If proof is needed that this day-one patch is crucial to the game, it lies in the fact that reviews were held back until its release.
It’s still puzzling why Ultizero Games and Sony decided to postpone the release of their PS5 exclusive game until August, after initially planning for a May launch. The game was actually set to be released in just one month when it was delayed. Interestingly, this August 29 release seems to have been very close, as indicated by the necessity for a day-one patch. Given that the game was ultimately delayed at the last minute, it’s clear that its original May release date wasn’t an easy target to meet. Unfortunately, we may never learn the reasons behind the development challenges that occurred between April and now.
