Right now, you can get one of the greatest games ever made on the PlayStation Store for only $2! It’s part of a 90% off sale that lasts for four more days – the deal ends January 8th. This is a PlayStation 4 game, but it works on both the PS5 and PS5 Pro because of backward compatibility. And even though it’s an older game, it still plays amazingly well – something not all classic PS4 games can claim.
The PlayStation 4 game we’re discussing came out in 2016, the same year Overwatch was named Game of the Year. However, according to Metacritic, the highest-rated game of that year was actually Inside, which received a score of 93. It shared this top spot with the PlayStation 4 exclusive game, Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End. Although Inside didn’t win the overall Game of the Year award ten years ago, it did win awards for Best Independent Game and Best Art Direction, and was also nominated for Best Narrative and Best Music/Sound Design.
Arguably the Greatest Puzzle Platformer Ever Made
Determining the greatest puzzle platformer is always a matter of opinion, but the conversation usually centers around Portal 2 and Inside. Other excellent games in the genre include Portal, Braid, Limbo, and Fez. Regardless of your preference, Inside is a standout title and essential for anyone who enjoys puzzle platformers or immersive, atmospheric experiences – it’s arguably among the very best.
If you haven’t played it, Inside is the follow-up to the critically acclaimed 2010 game Limbo, developed by the Danish studio Playdead. Many consider Inside to be an improved version of Limbo, and it’s becoming clear that it might be Playdead’s greatest achievement. The studio hasn’t released a new game since Inside came out 10 years ago, but they are currently working on one.
Predecessor Even Cheaper
Although Limbo isn’t quite as polished as Inside, it’s still an excellent puzzle platformer and considered one of the best ever made. Currently, Inside costs $1.99 and Limbo is an incredible deal at just $0.99 on the PlayStation Store. Both games are at their lowest price ever, and likely won’t be cheaper, as the developer, Playdead, rarely discounts their titles beyond 90%.
